Cortizo sliding doors review after 5 years (with video)

How do Cortizo sliding doors perform after 5 years of real use – and full weather exposure?
In this article, we analyse a real-life installation of COR Vision Plus: two large sashes, one fixed and one sliding, fitted in a flat-roof project with no overhang. After 5 years, has it held up? Any leaks? Maintenance issues?
If you’re considering slim aluminium sliders for a high-end build – read this first.

Why this setup: one fixed, one operable sash
In this real-life project, the team chose a COR Vision Plus system with two large panels: one fixed, one sliding. Why not make both operable? Simple – the fixed panel:
- reduced costs,
- improved airtightness,
- and still delivered plenty of daylight.
The sliding sash moves smoothly using a lever mechanism. After 5 years, no serious issues happened.
Meanwhile, the fixed sash works as a floor-to-ceiling window, adding symmetry and maximising natural light in the living area.

Visual symmetry – small detail, big effect
From both inside and outside, the fixed and sliding panels look identical – even though only one of them opens. This symmetry isn’t just aesthetic. It simplifies facade alignment, avoids visual clutter from offset rails, and ensures a clean, minimal look.
For high-end homes where every line matters, this is a small detail that can make a big difference in client approval.
Zero leaking problems with external drainage
This installation used Cortizo’s external drainage system – a feature that added around 20% to the price.
But after 5 years, with no roof overhang and full rain exposure, the result is clear:
- no leaks,
- no water damage,
- no callbacks.
The drainage solution redirects water away from the frame through dedicated channels built into the profile base.
For flat-roof homes or minimal overhangs, this upgrade can eliminate one of the biggest long-term risks.

Cortizo’s sliding mechanism and visibility
The second system was installed with two sliding tracks – one for each sash. This matched the design and functional needs of the project. Cortizo also offers versions with up to three tracks, or custom configurations for wider openings.
The rollers are integrated into the bottom frame. After 5 years, operation remains smooth. From outside, the bottom sash edge is barely visible – clean, minimal and unobtrusive.
