Comparison of Aluprof warm aluminum window profiles
More than 80% of our US customers order European aluminum windows. This material is often considered especially for large structures. It is durable and resistant, and most importantly, it allows for huge glazings.
Aluprof aluminum windows, along with Schuco, Reynaers, Cortizo or Yawal, achieve very good thermal parameters. They can be successfully installed in passive houses, but also if your investor simply expects warm windows.
In this article, we compared profiles:
- Aluprof MB-104 SI – the warmest profile, choose it when very low Uw (rather than price) is most important in the project
- Aluprof MB-86N ST – choose this profile when you need a good Uw at a moderate price
- Aluprof MB-86N SI – minimally worse Uw than MB-104 SI at a much lower price; choose it when the project requires a low Uw, but MB-104 SI is not in the budget
- Aluprof MB-79N ST – the cheapest profile, still providing good thermal performance, but not to the passive standard
- Aluprof MB-79N SI – the best thermal parameter/price ratio, best for projects involving economic solutions

- if your investor requires warm passive windows, this is a good choice
- this profile allows you to obtain the best thermal parameters of all the Aluprof profiles we compared – Uw 0.73 (U Factor 0.13)
- however, the price of this profile is the highest in our comparison
- the window also has the highest frame + sash height
Aluprof MB-86N ST, SI
- MB-86N profile is only 0.07 colder than MB-104
- SI version (Uw=0.8) is more than 25% cheaper than MB-104, but more expensive than MB-79N
- is a good choice if your builder expects very warm windows, but is not within the budget for MB-104 windows
Aluprof MB-79N ST, SI
- it is a solution from the category of more economical profiles with a depth of 70 mm, but has better thermal parameters than many other solutions from the same class
- the standard version is the cheapest in our comparison, at the same time it has the worst thermal performance
- model 79N ST among the compared profiles allows you to achieve the lowest fold, which is 89 mm
- SI version with additional thermal break is a very good, cheaper alternative to the standard version MB-86N
- SI version of this profile is the most profitable ratio of the thermal parameter to price
