The cost of a door frame varies mainly depending on the material used and the chosen size. However, if we want to look at sample prices in the States, the case is as follows:

• vinyl frame — from 100 to $200+

• steel frame — from 200 to $320+

• wood frame — from 130 to $500+

• aluminum frame — from 200 to $550+

We estimated the costs by collecting information from various sellers’ sites.

For comparison, in Poland, you would pay:

• vinyl frame — from 80 to $260+ (300 to 1000+ zł)

• steel frame — from 30 to $300+ (180 to 1300+ zł)

• wood frame — from 30 to $260+ (180 to 1000+ zł)

• aluminum frame — from 80 to $260+ (300 to 1000+ zł)

Like other products manufactured from aluminum, a frame made from this material will be energy-efficient and weather- and scratch-resistant. Aluminum also requires less maintenance and care. Additionally, these frames are available in a variety of finishes to match the aesthetics of a building.

Their main disadvantage is their higher price and lower soundproofing compared to, for example, wood.

It all depends on what your customer is looking for, if they want a frame:

• durable, energy-efficient with an aesthetically pleasing appearance, and they are prepared for regular maintenance, show them an offer of wooden frames

• durable, weatherproof, low maintenance, and at the same time with a lower price, but also less energy-efficient, then we recommend a steel frame

• low maintenance, inexpensive, but with good thermal performance, choose a plastic frame

• energy-efficient, weatherproof or scratch-resistant, requiring occasional maintenance, but they also reckon with their higher cost, recommend them an aluminum frame
