The shipping company determines the approximate date on which the container is loaded and the goods set sail. This can take place over a period of several days, as the sailing date depends on the available space on the ship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If the goods have been properly loaded, the shipowner approves the container as ready for shipment. It takes several days between approval and the container&#8217;s departure. The duration of the voyage itself to New York is about 3 weeks. What are they?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>1. pick up the goods from the port on your own within the prescribed period (usually 48h-72h after the container arrives at the port)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2. paying the customs duty applicable in the US (make sure to check with the customs agent what the applicable rate is)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>3. pay taxes applicable in the buyer&#8217;s country<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>4. arranging and paying for transportation from the port to the investment\/warehouse site<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>5. paying port handling costs:<br>for less-than-container-loaded (LCL &#8211; in OSB boxes) transportation, this will be an estimated 3 USD do 6 USD per ft3 of goods<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:5%\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer uag-hide-desktop uag-hide-tab uag-hide-desktop uag-hide-tab\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/debesto.com\/pl\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/1\/2020\/12\/IMG-20201202-WA0000-2-1024x576.jpeg\" alt=\"budowa background\" class=\"wp-image-10486\"><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div><div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-5 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">There are two ways to deliver a container:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>pickup by a shipping company,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>delivery of goods directly to the investment site.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Collection by the shipping company you must arrange on your own. If you have trouble finding a suitable company, ask your customs agent on the US side. He or she should help you with this, as well as guide you through local customs fees and state-specific tax.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is important to <strong>pick up your goods as soon as possible after unloading<\/strong> them at the port. The penalty for holding the goods at the port for a day can be several hundred dollars. Therefore, contact in advance a shipping company that will deliver the goods directly to the construction site as soon as the goods are unloaded from the ship. You may have to wait up to several days for the ship to unload at the port.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The second way, which is to deliver the goods directly to the project site, is usually a much more expensive option than port-to-port transportation.
